Are you ready to take the first step towards a new rewarding career as a personal Trainer?

Let me take a few guesses to see if we’re on the same page.

Fitness has become your thing, in fact getting into the gym and training has kinda put the rest of your life into perspective.

If you have an office job right now all day all you can think of is “Is it gym o’clock yet?? “

like I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve heard people say “I watch the clock all day in work until it’s time to hit the gym”

Sound about right?

Now there is a good chance that man of the people who used to pass judgement on the way you eat are asking for advice.

Maybe your family are inspired by your motivation, dedication and, results that they’re asking how they should start looking after themselves.

Everyone down the gym sees you as the go to person to ask for advice, or to train with and pick up a few tips.

You’re probably getting a few DM’s and comments daily from people who you inspire, saying they wish you would take all this more seriously cause they’d love to work with you.

The best thing about all of this is;

Helping people grow by sharing what you know feels amazing.

You feel like a brand new person doing it.

It feels good to know that what you’ve learned to this point can help people even if it’s just in some small way.

You get excited by the idea that you can help people make healthier choices, you’re helping them get in shape and look after themselves better

That’s when you start thinking that this hobby could be more.

See taking control of your fitness and health can show you how much potential you have to change things in your life, to be happier to find meaning and purpose. To make a difference

And so, you start to imagine what life would be like if you were doing this full time….

Like what if everyday you got up, and while everyone else was heading to the office to sit all day in front of a computer screen, you were heading to the gym to take the morning sessions with your clients

Wouldn’t that be awesome? You’re thinking to yourself.

That’s cause to people like you and I this is a hobby.

It’s something you would do everyday for FREE and be incredibly happy and fulfilled.

But up until this point you’ve never had the conversation with anyone who could show you the potential and opportunities in Fitness.

All you have are questions and not a lot of concrete answers

  • “Like how do I even start?”
  • “DO I need to spend 3 years doing a degree course before I’m ready?"
  • “What’s these Personal Training courses for what’s all this about REPS Ireland ?”
  • “What about Strength and conditioning I heard that was important.”

I totally get it cause I had the exact same questions and worries when I started

What I really wanted to know was;

How To Turn A Passion for Fitness Into A Real Career

Every single year hundreds of people will think about how to get into fitness as a career but have no idea where to start.

A Personal Training Certification course is the most common entry point, they enable you to get started in the industry very quickly. Typically offering an affordable and convenient option when you are looking to change career or get started in the fitness industry.

They will equip you with the basic skills and tools that you need to deliver a personal training session. Many of the training providers are purely interested in getting you through your course so they can move on to the next student.

They don’t really care about your long term success, your ability to impact people's lives or how you will make a career out of your passion.

Unfortunately not all Personal Training Certification courses are the same!

I found out the hard way. I got little to no substance from the personal training course content I followed, in fact what I got was depressingly average at best

I still see many Personal Trainer Certifications that don’t cover the content you really want to know.

Content like;

  • How to write programs to help clients achieve a variety of goals, that work in the real world.
  • How to progress & regress exercises effectively for different clients
  • How to correctly assess movement and use that information to help the client.
  • How to promote behaviour change, so client actually achieve their goals
  • How to coach clients in the real world on the gym floor, not just in theory
  • How to communicate effectively with clients so they coaching skills

You want to discover how to really help clients, make a long term impact on their health, fitness and lives.

What is a CPD?

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) refers to the process of tracking and documenting the skills, knowledge and experience that you gain both formally and informally as you work, beyond any initial training. It’s a record of what you experience, learn and then apply. The term is generally used to mean a physical folder or portfolio documenting your development as a professional and is the means by which people maintain their knowledge and skills related to their professional lives.

The CPD accreditation on our courses show that you have continued with a line of study beyond your initial study to meet the guidelines outlined by a certain body.

How long do the courses take?

Do I need previous experience?

If you are starting a new career, the first course you will need is the Gym Instructor course; this will give you the foundation needed for the fitness industry. No previous experience is required. However physical fitness is required and training experience will be beneficial.

All of our courses require physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. There is also an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved, and candidates should have basic skills in communication.

What happens if I fail exams?

If you fail a theory exam you can repeat it 1-2 times depending on the module. A fee of €35 applies. If you fail all attempts you will need to resit the whole module again on the next available course. This must be done within 2 months
If you fail a practical exam you can repeat it twice. A fee of €100 applies.

All repeat exams need to be scheduled with the Course Coordinator. Payment must be made before the repeat exam date.

What's the success rate?

80 – 85%. Everything you need to pass the course will be delivered and if you follow instructions given by the tutors, there shouldn’t be any reasons for you not to pass. You will be at a higher risk of failing the modules if you do not do the homework and readings required. If you are serious about becoming fitness professional you will not only be able to manage the course workload but will learn enough to start your new career.

Can I do courses part time?

No, at the minute we only offer full time courses.

What do I need to wear?

We would advise that all learners are dressed in exercise clothing for the duration of the course i.e. loose, comfortable clothing for all short practical based courses. When it comes to exercises, students should be dressed in appropriate clothing, training gear, shorts and t-shirts.

What do I need to bring?

A pen/pencil and notebook. Your manual will be supplied on the day. Some people complain they do not know how to structure classes after their training has been delivered and these people are the same ones who come without pen or notebook and don’t take notes.

There will be a lot of material covered on courses that will require complete concentration and effort to gain the most from the course, so you will need to take plenty of notes to look back on!

Surgical/hockey tape (only for Kettlebell Courses): This is to protect your hands from minor tears or abrasions. This can be bought in any chemist for a few euros so please purchase and bring this small but very useful piece of equipment. It will save your hands after two days of lifting.
